Created on Apr 4, 2009 1:27 PM To cushion the Global Financial Crisis, DOLE has several projects for the fisherfolks, disadvantaged workers and Emergency Employment Projects. Since we are a coastal area, LGU may submit proposal to upgrade equipments/materials for the fishermen and even for the women group and our youth. Here inDavao del Sur, i prepared a proposal of P1.345M for the rehabilitation of 80has of coconut and planting 25,000 coconut seeds. What we did we will pay P25.00 for every coconut seedlings planted and P 600.00 labor cost per hectare for the rehabilitation of their coconut. Rehab is the application of fertilizer or application of rock salt and application of pesticides or trunk injection if may mga sakit an lubi.. If the LGU has a PESO Manager pls do coordinate with DOLE Provincial Office or the Planning Officer may also do this. We have projects for the women, youth farmers etc... ---------- To cushion the Global Financial Crisis, DOLE has projects through livelihood and emergency employment projects. The LGU can submit proposal for the fisherfolks -ISLA and TUPAD which is Tulong Alay para sa Disadvantaged Workers. Since we are into coconut production LGU may prepare a proposal for the Coconut Rehabilitation and Planting. Here in Mindanao i made a proposal of P1.345M for the Rehabilitation and Planting of Coconut. Just last week we released P 475,000.00 for the island of Sarangani intended for their fisherfolks and coconut farmers.. I would suggest if Lawaan has Public Employment Service Officer or the Planning Officer to coordinate with DOLE Region VIII for possible financial Assistance. |

Created on Apr 16, 2009 12:00 AM According to April 6,2008 cbnnews.com almost 40 million of the 3 billion funds went to eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone, who is also a spokesman of the local authorities of the Philippines. An activist farmers group accused Sunday that funds supposed to be allocated for the government's irrigation program went to political allies of Pres.Arroyo.Note that Evardone is our governor of eastern Samar. Another case from May 14,2008,Gov.PH News,The country's provincial governors have committed 50 percent of their internal revenue allotment(IRA) differentials amounting to P12.57 billion for food production.Eastern Samar Gov.Ben Evardone, secretary general of the league, said today local officials fully support efforts by the Arroyo administration to head off rice shortage and for the country to eventually attain self sufficiency in rice.Evardone said about 6 billion would be used by the LGU's to buy certified seeds, post harvest facilities and other farm implements to help boost food production in the country. In the same EO the president ordered the department of budget and management and the department of interior and local government to take necessary steps to ensure that the local government unit get their respective shares of the IRA. Ene pa,household access to sanitary toilet in Eastern Samar is 72 percent, nangangahulogan 28 percent hit mga tawo ha Eastern Samar nahin iwad nala bis diin.Unemployment of Lawaan alone is 40 to 60 percent.Ha barangay 8 la,damo pa nga kabablayan it waray toilet. It amon mga hagrane,kadak-an neglected # 1 kay nahadlok man pag reklamo,o pag aro hin mga toilet orog na an mga balay nga ligid han salog ngan dagat.Orog na ene nga Beree, aada la ene kikilal-a hin election, mga pobrisanon, waray nag aasikaso nga tuhay!Tinamay pa gud nga mabaho, alang man ene parte hit Lawaan, kanay manla ene dungog?A-ada la ene hit aton nan momono kon ano it iya bubuhaton? Created on Apr 16, 2009 9:33 AM you are right ms. anano...poor management... poor politics... poor... very poor... questions... are our town leaders sound in politics? in leadership? in management? good intention alone is not enough... common sense is not enough... so much to say....... do they know accountability?...responsibility?.... service...? only one thing change... their homes and their families... if we will try to make an investigation/accounting about thier expenses out of their supposed income... it will bring us trouble... and miracles... magkano lang ba naman ang suweldo nila? ikaw naman..... we were not born yesterday... can we not make a difference? even in a small way? |

Created on Apr 16, 2009 2:45 PM Can we make a difference ? Is this your question Sandalphon? Yes we can, they make 10% in every deal, whether its a pork barrel or earmarks, only in the P.I.what else is new? Even our tax collectors makes 10% of every house tax they collect without any argument from the masa, yet they tend to extradite behind our backs for more. They should have known their salaries, responsibilities before they enter their jobs, tasks, their miscellaneous expenses, their job as a public servants. You are absolutely right,it will enhance a troublesome discomfort to some who oppose my statement,it might be worthy of consequences to vulgarize the misconducts of our LGU's unfair to the masa.We cannot hide the facts, this is done right eye for an eye that we seems to ignore the reality of corruption, public funds being manipulated,as we just plainly close our eyes pretending we don't know the facts.Billions of this funds are not free either we see a project done or none,we pay this later through our taxes increases from generations to come.Enough is enough, all this years I watch and listen to this scumbags lies makes me puke. Yes,we were not born yesterday, that is the sad facts about our town that had been mesmerized by our kabogtuan, the politicians who proudly represent themselves as leaders of what?I've listened day in and day out the promises forgotten post election makes me vomit. Some roads now being constructed here and there, the tingi tingi style for the fiesta, just so some projects are done to prove money was well spent although we knew how much funds was subsidized by PGMA.Barangay 10 road is partly done.Like I say tingi tingi.Gladly diocese of Borongan are part as a watchdog and some outsider media are eyeballing this projects. |

Created on Apr 25, 2009 1:14 AM Antonia, recently a picture of Gov.Ben Evardone was publicized at samarnews.com instructing road laborers in Quinapondan E.Samar widening the farm to market road from Quinapondan to Sta.Margarita out of the Dole program.Another Dole program by chief Fe Norma Valuis of Leyte handed 300,000.00 pesos for the farm to market road of Malitbog Leyte. Therefore cousin, eastern Samar is aware of this Dole program big time.I admire Gov. Ben Evardone assuring this program is implemented eliminating corruption locally. My question to Lawaan LGU's,San Isidro farm to market road is long overdue, just curious when is this going to happened? We may need to encourage attention from our governor and our congressman how vital San Isidro road to Lawaan a potential stream of income to our farmers and to the neighboring barangays a huge impact for our economy and food supply.Water project in this area is such an enhancing advantage expanding Lawaan town on an upper level form installing irrigation to the neighboring farms benefiting law-ananons.So much we can do with so much vision to be accomplish, just lack of implementing leadership. Good luck cousin, keep up the encouragement to our LGU's. |

Created on Apr 29, 2009 4:24 PM it is really good to see that the roads around and within lawaan are renewed/replaced... at last for the past 10-15 years it is goo to see white new roads again... tourist or visitors feel comfortable visiting and revisiting towns and places that neat and beautiful... and again... the raod to san isidro could be a landmark for any mayor of lawaan.... it can do magic that farmers will soon go back again into farming and more farming.... more visitors then more products.... i am not kidding... but i am little bit alarmed... in my youngers days.. there were so many fishes..small and big within the vicinity of the wharf of lawaan... i went fishing just within 100m from the the shore and have our viand for a day or two.... fishing for me as a little kid what just a pastime and a play.... but now where are the fishes of yesteryears.... i am alarmed because as the rumors say that some BANTAY-DAGAT are BANTAY-SALAKAY...... there is also a certain policeman who used to fish within the prohibited area....there is dynamite fishing.... should the youngs teach the old...should the poors cry more to be heard by the rich and powerful.. |
