HELLO..I am Maris Cay Gabornes, the current sk chairwoman of brgy.1,lawaan,e. samar..i just like to ask for some financial assistance..
I,with my sk kagawads, aspire to have a playground in our barangay. It is one of the projects that we endeavor to achieve because we believe that it would be very useful for the people specifically the children. We have noticed that children are scattered in the streets when they play and it is very dangerous since we can’t avoid accidents caused by passing by cars, motorcycles and pedicabs. Aside from this, the playground would contribute to the enjoyment of the children during their playtime. Furthermore, we would like to make their childhood very memorable and fun. It could also divert their attention from prohibited drugs and other vices they could get from the street.
In this regard, we would like to knock on your generous heart for any financial assistance you could extend to us. Our SK fund couldn’t sustain the project since we still have other important activities that we have to support in the future, and the SK fund is actually not sufficient for all the projects in the barangay. Despite the lack of funds, we still desire to pursue with the project because we know that a lot of people, LIKE YOU, are very kind and generous to support projects that will benefit many. Your help would be very much appreciated and would be of great use for us. Thank you so much. May GOD continue to bless you and your family more..have a good day!

if you are interested to help us please contact me through my e-mail or my cellphone number:

Hi Miss Gabornes,

In case you didn’t notice, there are other appeals for help like the DCA and the pews for the church. The lack of response from the readers does not mean that it is totally ignored or has fallen into deaf ears. I’m sure every Lawananon abroad have always room in their hearts and their pockets (for that matter) for some degree of generosity but needs “convincing” or encouragement to overcome the paranoia, brought about by previous missing funds and accountabilities that don’t exist. Even seemingly successful donated projects that are already in place are still questionable ( check Mana MA’s postings ). These statistics create a negative effect and discourage potential donors from participating.

Nevertheless, what you and SK have in mind is noble and will surely benefit the youngsters and adults alike.

However, please provide more details about your plan as to where is it going to be in the part of the town. Do you already have the space for the playground? What provisions are going to be needed? Is it big enough to play outdoor games like baseball, softball, volleyball?

And to my fellow readers and passers-by, if you have something to say or doubts about this project, please don’t hesitate to express your opinion or misgiving. We’re somehow “prematurely” blessed that some concerned youths back home came up with this idea.

Hi Maris, I am so proud of you kiddo. My only regret was not able to see you the last time I was in Samar, it was part of my plan to see you and Congratulate you for graduating Valedectorian. I actually have a card for you here, I had it with me when I went home but to my regret it was such a short time and my schedule was so busy that I forgot most of the things I needed done. I am so proud of all your accomplishments, things that you have achieved and projects that you did. I saw the Floating Cottage, although I didn't see you I asked and hear people talked of all your achievements. You worked so hard and I know that your intentions are good and noble. We need youth like you that shows great leadership and get things done.

I understand your post says * (playground in your barangay). * Please don't get disheartened continue with this noble cause. People opinions will always differ for some have already had the misfortune to encounter questionable projects. Readers doesn't tend to read between the lines too when reading posts. Some reader I think somehow jump into conclusions of what we think it is and not what the poster is trying to get accross. I guess instead of seeing Yellow we see RED because of past negative encounters. But we should always give someone a chance, another persons faults shouldn't be base on another individual.

Maris, I got your email inday. I haven't replied as I have been far too busy these week. You got my support no question asks. It will not be much as we just finished a Project. But I got some Materials for playground use if you need them. I was going to donate it to BLUE but it's no use when it's not being use right now, it's in the Philippines. SK is welcome to it, Badminton, Tennis racket.... etc etc... let me know so I can ask someone to deliver it to Lawaan.

Good Luck to all your endeavours and once again I am so PROUD of you.

Hello..I am so pleased to receive a reply..This only implies that people still care. Actually, the playground that we're planning to have is the one that has see saw, slide and swings. We plan to place it at the lot behind our barangay hall. I think it is the best place available that can accomodate the playground. We're not really after the size, what matter to us is that there will be a place for the children to play at.

I asked Mr. Torecio Gañas, the owner of the Al-Irence Welding Shop, how much the see saw, swings and slide will cost. According to him, due to the increase of price of metal, 30,000 might not be enough. I'm aware that a lot of people had a bad experience about donated projects. I can't blame them for that but I hope that those experiences wouldn't stop them from extending help to others.

Honestly,I haven't informed our barangay captain about this plan because I want to tell him about it when everything is already finalize. But i'm sure he will support it since a lot of people would benefit from the project. If there are people who are interested to help but are afraid to take the risk of being lied at, I'm willing to do everything just to make all processes and transactions transparent.

I know it's really hard to trust people nowadays but I hope you will TRUST me. All of these are not for me, I just want to help other people the way you also do.
